Job Details
  • Title: Community Protection Enforcement Officer

  • Hours per week: 37 hours per week, Monday–Saturday, on a rota
  • Contract length: 2 months opening assignment
  • Location: Walsall, WS1 1TW
  • Shift Details: Saturdays included in shift rota; rest days available following 6 days worked; may be asked to work later shifts with notice if needed
  • Hybrid Schedule: Patrolling 3 days per week with occasional Saturday work once every 3 or 4 weeks; when not patrolling, caseload completed onsite or at home
  • Uniform: Provided
  • Background Checks: Basic DBS required
  • Driving: Must have valid UK Driving Licence and use own vehicle; Business Insurance required on start date
  • Availability: Must be available for immediate start
The Role

We seek a Community Protection Enforcement Officer to work under the supervision of a Team Leader Community Protection, delivering the Community Protection Service in line with corporate, national and regional policies and priorities.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide a visible patrolling presence to deliver enforcement and reassurance service for residents, businesses and visitors.
  • Deal with incidents, service requests and enforcement related to licensing, environmental crime, statutory nuisance, pollution, anti‑social behaviour, highway enforcement and unauthorised encampments (list may change).
Key Requirements
  • Enforcement background in antisocial behaviour, environmental crime, statutory nuisance, licensing enforcement.
  • GSCE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Experience in face‑to‑face work and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written communication skills and IT literacy.
  • Physical ability to walk and patrol for 7 hours a day.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence and ability to use own vehicle; Business Insurance required on start date.
