A global engineering company in the UK is seeking an Energy Manager to lead initiatives that reduce energy consumption and support compliance with environmental regulations. The role involves developing utility management strategies and achieving net zero targets by 2030. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of energy legislation, relevant qualifications, and experience in finance or business case development. This position offers flexible working arrangements and a robust benefits package.
At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as an energy manager at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.
As an Energy Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a role where your expertise will make a tangible difference to national defence and environmental sustainability, while advancing your career in a dynamic and forward‑thinking organisation.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll lead strategic initiatives to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions across one of the UK’s most complex industrial sites. You’ll develop and deliver utility management strategies, support compliance with the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), and help us achieve our ambitious net zero by 2030 target.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements.
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
For over a century Babcock has helped to defend nations, protect communities and build a better world. To continue, we must adapt, advance and be a sustainable business with a shared goal.
If you have a disability or need any reasonable adjustments during the application and selection stages, please email careers@babcockinternational.com with the subject header ‘Reasonable adjustments requirement’. We’re committed to building an inclusive culture where everyone’s free to thrive. We are happy to talk about flexible working – please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
