Overview

Energetic Materials Technician
12 months
£26.84ph umbrella (Inside IR35).

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the Engineering and Technology Teams at BAE Systems Land UK in the small scale manufacture and testing of energetic materials.
  • Assist Energetic Material/Process subject matter experts in providing energetic material advice and support.
  • Take reasonable care of own health and safety and maintain high standards for safety, health and environment (SHE).
  • Co-operate and follow all reasonable instruction, information and training; report work-related hazards or incidents; use equipment for the purpose intended.
  • Follow the Company Health & Safety Policy (759/OF/016) and Environmental Policy (759/OF/029).
Safety and Culture

The role holder is expected to lead by example in promoting risk awareness, ensuring that risks are assessed and adequately controlled, and encouraging the team to report incidents and defects.

Qualifications
  • A recognised science qualification to minimum A-Level/HND/HNC, preferably with knowledge of chemistry.
  • Ability to work within a close team and to stringent safety processes.
  • Good practical skills in a laboratory or engineering environment.
