Endoscopy Admin Team Lead

Main duties of the job

The Endoscopy Department is looking for a flexible, hardworking and enthusiastic individual, to provide a front line service to patients and staff.

The successful applicant will be working in a challenging environment requiring a high level of flexibility which will involve some evening and weekend working. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure and tight time constraints are required. You must be able to manage your own workload whilst having the ability to work as part of a team. You will be required to show empathy, and have a caring and pleasant approach to the role.

The role involves working to support the reception staff and the department to achieve our targets which are list utilisation and waiting list management of 2WW, Routine/Urgent diagnostics, and planned and surveillance targets.

The successful applicant is required to supervise the Reception Team/Endoscopy Booking Officers in the delivery of a comprehensive administration service to the Endoscopy Department. This will involve inpatient waiting list management for a specific area within Endoscopy in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers as appropriate, also working closely with the Reception team of any issues that inhibits patient's pathway i.e. any staffing issues, cancelled list and delays.
