Job description

END POINT ASSESSOR (EPA) - POWER TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION SECTOR

PART TIME / FLEXIBLE ROLE

INTRO

V Selective is recruiting on behalf of an Ofqual-recognised Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
As an organisation, they are committed to quality and deliver a rigorous apprenticeship end point assessment service.
Their service ensures that apprentices working in various industries can perform their roles effectively.
Key industries supported include Gas, Power, Water, and Nuclear.

They are currently seeking End Point Assessors (EPAs) for the Power Transmission and Distribution Sector to join their bank of Independent End Point Assessors.

Specifically, we are looking for EPAs who can assess any of the following Power Industry Standards:

  • Power Industry Distribution Cable Jointer

Cable jointers work in the power industry for power network owners, operators, or contractors. They connect new supplies, divert and modify existing supplies, and locate and repair faults on underground power distribution networks.

  • Power Industry Substation Fitter

Substation fitters work in and around substations for power network owners, operators, or contractors. Substations are part of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution systems, transforming voltage levels and performing essential functions. Electric power may flow through several substations at different voltage levels between the generating station and consumers.

  • Power Industry Overhead Linesperson

Overhead linespersons maintain and repair plant and equipment associated with power distribution or transmission overhead lines, working for power utility owners, operators, or contractors.

THE ROLE

The role is offered on a generous Zero Hours Contract, which includes pension contributions. The hours vary based on demand, and registered EPAs can choose assignments according to their availability. This role can be undertaken alongside an existing position or as part of a wider portfolio of activities.

The role is home-based, with travel required to conduct assessments.

Upon accepting assignments, you will deliver end-point assessments for the relevant apprenticeship standards and assessment methods you are approved for.

You will conduct assessment activities remotely or in person, including practical observations and technical interviews, and will award preliminary grades based on fair, objective, and evidence-based decisions.

You will record assessment outcomes accurately and submit records within the required timescales.
