Job description

I am working on behalf of a leading UK accountancy and advisory firm to recruit an experience Assistant Manager to join their Employment Taxes team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage the employment tax affairs of a varied client portfolio and contribute to the success of a highly respected practice.

The Role

You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, with a primary focus on the annual employment tax compliance cycle, including P11Ds, PSA, STBV, and ERS reporting. From this compliance work, you will also identify advisory opportunities for the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and technically accurate advice on employment tax matters, including pay and benefits, employee status, and payroll compliance.
  • Support clients with compliance duties such as year-end reporting, due diligence, and policy reviews.
  • Assist in supervising and mentoring junior team members, guiding their technical development and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment tax legislation and changes.
About You
  • Proactive and commercially minded, with the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels.
  • Recent practical experience of managing an employment tax compliance portfolio.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Preferably CTA and/or ACA qualified.
  • Innovative, with vision, creativity, and the ability to market your skills and those of the firm.
