A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist for a mainly remote role with potential office visits in Manchester. Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Mainly Remote (Manchester office visits as required)

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hrs per week

Contract: Temporary, approx 3 months (potential to be longer)

Overview

Adecco Manchester are supporting our global fintech client to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Specialist on an ongoing temporary basis. This role is pivotal in providing expert ER support to People Leaders and employees across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and advise on complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and terminations across the UK and key EU countries (France, Netherlands, Belgium).
  • Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and company policies, providing clear guidance to managers.
  • Partner with global ER teams to implement preventative measures and risk-based approaches to employee relations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK and EU employment law, ensuring policies reflect current legislation.
  • Support managers in understanding obligations and responsibilities under local laws.
  • Build strong relationships with People Leaders, providing coaching and advice on ER issues.
  • Act as a liaison between HR Centres of Excellence and business units to ensure alignment of ER practices globally.
  • Document and track ER cases accurately, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to process.
  • Use ER data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to ER‑related projects, including policy reviews, organisational changes, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support change management processes with effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Experience & Skills Required
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5‑7 preferred).
  • Proven experience in Employee Relations within the UK and at least one European jurisdiction (priority: France, Netherlands, Belgium).
  • Strong understanding of employment law and ER best practices across multiple countries.
  • Ability to manage complex ER cases with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and a proactive, risk‑based approach.
