Qualifications

About the Role

Main duties include:

  • Overseeing, managing and developing a book of SME/commercial and corporate clients primarily for non-investment products including DIS, PMI, Key Man cover, and Shareholder Protection
  • Building and maintaining strong business relationships with clients, insurers and affinity partners
  • Building a strong profile in the sector to support business growth
  • Identifying and maximising opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell non-investment products to existing clients; converting new business leads that arise
  • Making and attending client meetings where required
  • Discussing and assessing clients’ current and future insurance needs, providing appropriate advice
  • Managing all new and renewal work as required to build a profitable client account
  • Negotiating best policy terms with insurers, conducting market exercises as appropriate
  • Providing business reports to clients and Directors as required
  • Keeping electronic files up to date, in order and all work tasked/diarised in Acturis
  • Being a referral point for technical enquiries relating to non-investment products
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the general insurance market, including attending networking/supplier events as appropriate

The role is full time although we may consider applications from those wishing to work part time. Preferably you will be based at our office in Newmarket but we may consider applications from those wishing to be based at our Norwich office. Occasional travel to the other office may be required.

Hybrid working is available after probation and on discussion.

About You

You have proven experience of working in Insurance, specifically in commercial lines across a broad range of products within the UK market and specialising in non-investment products.

You must have:

  • Experience of working in commercial lines insurance across a broad range of products within the UK market but with a focus on non-investment products, particularly DIS, PMI, Key Man cover, and Shareholder Protection
  • Strong ability to successfully identify and maximise opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell to existing clients
  • Educated to GCSE level with Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
  • Cert CII qualified
  • A broad knowledge and deep understanding of the insurance sector
  • Confidence using MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of using Acturis
  • Dip CII qualified or equivalent experience and knowledge
