These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders. These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow. This can making learning really difficult, this is where you would come in.

Responsibilities
  • Directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.
  • Help make learning fun and engaging while ensuring that learning becomes concrete.
  • Support and shadow the class teacher, with 1:1 support for SEN students.
  • Help run engaging lessons to maintain a positive and exciting classroom environment.
  • Behavioural management may be required.
Qualifications and Requirements

The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists and counsellors.

Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art or drama will have an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
