Responsibilities
  1. Involved in the initial reception and management of patients attending the department.
  2. Teaching of junior doctors, medical students and nursing staff.
  3. Administrative responsibilities such as daily auditing of X‑ray and pathology results.
  4. Assist consultants in running the shop floor, ensuring patients are seen by appropriate staff in a timely fashion and supervising junior staff.

The post holder is expected to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances essential to the continuity of patient care.

Discharge and Background Checks

Applicants for this role will be required to undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. Airedale NHS Foundation Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and recover the cost (Enhanced £54.40 or Standard/Basic £26.40) from your first full month’s salary. You are encouraged to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £16 cost per year.
