Job summary

A global financial services firm in London seeks a Vice President to lead discussions on capital regimes and provide expert advice across various teams in the Finance function. Qualifications

Job description

You will be a deep subject-matter expert, engaged in a wide variety of work. The team is part of the Finance function.

As a Vice President within the EMEA Capital Policy team, you will be responsible for advising on the capital regime, interpreting the current framework and providing advice to a range of teams across Finance, Risk and business areas.

Job Responsibilities
  • being a key participant in the process of approving new business initiatives and other significant changes;
  • supporting and participating in the firm’s interactions with its regulators in the region;
  • reviewing upcoming changes to the regime (ranging from Basel, through CRD/CRR, to EBA, UK and other country-specific requirements), analysing impact and ensuring that we are properly prepared for these changes;
  • helping to shape the firm’s stance on such developments, and participating in industry discussions, consultation and feedback to policy-makers.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Good working knowledge of the current international, EU and UK capital regimes, particularly as applied to banking and investment banking businesses
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex rules frameworks
  • Ability to communicate clearly, and explain unfamiliar concepts or rules in simple, memorable terms; good written and oral presentation skills
  • Good task / project management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Gravitas to be able to deal with very senior staff in other areas of the firm (MD / ED level)
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to prioritise, focusing on the most important aspects of an issue
  • Collaborative approach to working within a team
