Job description

Embedded Software Tools Engineer – High-Performance Automotive & Motorsport Systems

Location : Hybrid – South East (4 days on-site in Surrey)

Salary : £60,000 - £70,000 Basic Salary + Bonus + Full Benefits

The Company :

A pioneering technology organisation at the cutting edge of vehicle performance, electrification and intelligent control systems is expanding its software capability. Their platforms power some of the most advanced programmes in global motorsport and next‑gen automotive development, enabling faster iteration, smarter insights and greater efficiency across high‑stakes environments.

With demand surging and new programmes accelerating, the business is investing in engineering talent that can push their toolchain, simulation capability and embedded workflows to the next level.

If you want to work where innovation genuinely meets velocity, this is that environment.

The Role :

We’re looking for an Embedded Software Tools Engineer to elevate the modelling, simulation and code‑generation ecosystem that underpins the company’s embedded control products.

This role sits at the point where model‑based design meets real‑world performance. You will architect, refine and support advanced MATLAB / Simulink toolboxes and simulation environments used by elite‑tier engineering teams building high‑integrity embedded software.

Expect variety : one day shaping code‑generation workflows, another collaborating with high‑performance engineering teams, another enhancing simulation tools that support rapid iteration and testing.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Develop and refine MATLAB / Simulink toolboxes used to generate embedded code for high‑performance controllers.
  • Act as an expert partner for engineers and customers using these tools in demanding technical environments.
  • Enhance and support the organisation’s SIL simulation platform, enabling faster, more robust testing.
  • Bridge the gap between model‑level design and lower‑level embedded software.
  • Shape new tool features and workflows by working closely with controls, embedded and systems engineers.
  • Drive structured testing, release processes and technical documentation.
About You :

You’re an engineer who thrives at the intersection of modelling, embedded software and real‑time performance. You enjoy creating tools that accelerate others and you’re motivated by seeing your work used on world‑class engineering programmes.

You Bring :
  • Expert MATLAB programming skills and deep experience with model‑based development.
  • Strong Simulink knowledge, ideally including customisation of code‑generation pipelines.
  • Confident C programming skills, plus understanding of compilers, toolchains and embedded workflow.
  • Familiarity with real‑time control, embedded operating systems, and performance‑critical applications.
  • Experience with Git, CI pipelines and structured software validation.
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.

If you want to shape the toolchain behind next‑generation embedded control systems and see your work make an immediate difference, we’d love to speak with you.
