Job summary

A leading engineering and R&D firm based in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced engineering professional with a background in electrical design and testing. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in analog and digital circuit design and be familiar with tools like Altium. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline and five years of related experience are required.

We are looking for someone with key skills and able to perform the following roles & responsibilities : -

Job Description

• Under minimum supervision, applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design hardware, electronic circuits, control systems or algorithms for new development and existing products.
• Uses software tools or applications to analyse and conduct tests on electronics circuits or systems and document performance in comparison with design criteria.
• Identifies the testing requirement at a component, integration and system level with the emphasis on complying with test standards and client Health, Safety, and Environment procedures.
• Generate test procedures, conduct test and generate reports.
• Performs both engineering calculations and various statistical analysis as required.
• Develop and documents process flows, tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, procedures, etc. using appropriate engineering tools.
• Support technology transfer, product support for manufacturing and operations
• Interacts with suppliers to evaluate technical capabilities, to develop processes to ensure adherence to client quality requirements and to help investigate any technical quality issues.
• Product Line governance and continuous improvement
• Support the Engineering Change process.
• Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains open lines of communication with all levels of the organization.

Qualification

• Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline and 5 years of related experience. Completion of a master’s in electrical engineering or similar discipline is preferred.

Experience

• Analog and Digital electronics circuit design
• Evaluation and Testing of electronic systems at all stages of development
• Troubleshooting and diagnosis of prototype and Production Tools
• Engineering design calculations and analysis
• PCB schematics and layout design using Altium software or similar
• High Temperature and rugged electronics designs
• PC Software and Embedded firmware / microcontroller programming using C programming
• Experience with client processes and systems is preferred.
