Electronics Test Technician in East Anglia

I am supporting an established engineering business looking for an Electronics Test Technician in East Anglia to join their product development and testing team. This is a hands‑on role focused on electronic testing, functional verification and supporting new product work across a wide range of electronic systems.

The Electronics Test Technician in East Anglia will work across microcontroller‑based PCB assemblies, environmental testing, compliance activities and the creation or adaptation of test procedures. You will also support the engineering team with more complex electronics testing, root cause investigation and prototype evaluation.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys practical electronics, problem‑solving and working directly with hardware in a collaborative engineering environment. It is a great chance for an Electronics Test Technician in East Anglia who wants to play a key role in real product development.

Key Responsibilities for the Electronics Test Technician in East Anglia
  • Perform hands‑on testing of electronic and electrical assemblies
  • Use oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analysers, signal analysers and similar equipment
  • Carry out EMC and environmental test work
  • Support the development of test procedures and adapt existing ones where required
  • Perform PCB rework, soldering SMD work wiring, and general electronics build tasks
  • Build basic test circuits and test rigs where required
  • Assist with maintaining lab equipment and general H and S standards
  • Work with engineering teams to support product verification and technical investigations
  • Occasional off‑site testing at specialist test facilities
Skills and Experience for the Electronics Test Technician in East Anglia
  • Practical electronics background, ideally HND or equivalent

  • Basic experience with microcontrollers or coding, such as Arduino, PIC, Atmel, and Raspberry Pi is beneficial
  • Full driving licence and comfortable with occasional travel
