Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a long-established electronics company producing high-end scientific equipment. They are looking for an electronics engineer with good all‑round abilities. You will eventually be working on every aspect of their machines from high voltage electric fields to electronically controlled valves and from PCB design to high resolution sensor measurements. If this sounds daunting, don’t be put off. This company does not expect candidates to have fully formed skillsets. You will be supported to learn and grow into these areas over time by experts in the field.

The type of candidate they’re looking for will have a good degree from a top university which has provided you strong understanding of general electronics and classical physics principles. You will be comfortable working in both the analogue and digital domains, and you’ll be quick to pick up new skills and knowledge. Most of what you will be asked to do will not have been taught at university so an appetite for continuing to learn both theoretically and practically is essential.

Requirements:
  • Good degree from a top university in Electronic Engineering or similar
  • Strong understanding of the underlying principles in electronics and classical physics
  • Comfort working in both analogue and digital domains
  • Curiosity and a willingness to continue learning challenging electronics concepts

Additional basic skills or knowledge in chemistry or software development would be beneficial but are not required.

You will be working collaboratively in a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Due to the nature of the work, you will be in the office full time. The office is conveniently located close to good road and rail links.
