Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Stevenage (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)

Duration: 12 months (likely extension)

Rate: Negotiable (DOE)

- Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

The Opportunity

An industry‑leading defence organisation is looking for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing team in Stevenage. You'll be part of a highly supportive engineering function that prides itself on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and delivering high‑quality solutions.

This role suits someone who enjoys taking ownership of design work packages, thrives in multi‑disciplinary environments, and has a strong background across the full electronic product lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll play a key part in developing advanced electronic solutions for complex weapon systems, covering both on‑board subsystems and land, sea, and air‑based firing units.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and delivering end‑to‑end electronic design packages
  • Taking responsibility for performance, quality, cost, and schedule for your designs
  • Working across Power and Analogue Electronics at board and subsystem level
  • Collaborating closely with Software, Firmware, Mechanical, Environmental, and EMC teams
  • Ensuring designs meet all technical and environmental requirements
What You'll Bring
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering
  • Significant experience in electronic design, development, and delivery
  • Proven ability to lead sizeable design work packages
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and broad knowledge of electronic technologies
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence across teams
Industry Background

Defence experience is ideal, but not essential. Candidates from complex engineering, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or high‑reliability electronics environments will also be considered.
