Engineering Business Manager (Electronics)

Stevenage - Hybrid 50 / 50 split

We are working with a Globally known Manufacturing Company within the Defence industry.

The Electronic Engineering team is responsible for the design, development, proving and transfer to production of our clients UK Electronics Equipment.

In order to deliver on Project commitments, Electronic Engineering’s Governance Team needs to support all of the engineering delivery teams in all business operation areas including functional finance and asset / facilities management. An opportunity has arisen for a Business Manager with experience of both Financial Management and Business Operations Management to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the 2025 electronic engineering budget in collaboration with the Heads of Capability and other leaders within the EE Function.
  • Manage the group of people through the process of planning and structuring the functional budget for 2026.
  • Support EE Asset Management activities, working with the EE Lab Manager to ensure Capital is planned in line with functional priorities and that all assets are managed appropriately through life with all required cover provided within the functional budget.
What we need from you
  • Leadership of the management of all functional budgets (Capital, Non-Payroll, Functional Projects) through 2025 and into 2026.
  • Preparation of Local Operating Process guides to define and ensure consistency in how functional budgets are utilised across all capabilities and delivery teams.
  • Conduct financial data analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Support to Governance and Business Operation strategic improvement actions led by others within the Future Technology & Governance team.
  • Support delivery of performance metrics to the EE Senior Leadership Team.
  • EE stakeholder management – EE Deputy Director, Heads of Capability, Future Technology & Governance Team.
  • Stakeholder management – companies UK Finance, Site Management Team.
  • Security Clearance (SC) is required for this role.

The expectation for this role is that this will be a hybrid working role with 60% of time spent on site in Stevenage.

  • Good understanding of Finance (General Ledger Accounts, Capital).
