A leading engineering firm in London is looking for an Electronic Enclosure Mechanical Design Engineer to create designs for electronic housing. This hands-on role involves using FEA analysis, 3D modeling, and practical skills to build prototypes. Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree, strong numerical skills, and ideally, experience with Autodesk Fusion and Femap for vibration analysis.

Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D mechanical CAD design and engineering drawings.
  • Ideally familiar with vibration analysis tools.
  • Capable of building prototypes with machine shop tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components for two new sensors.
  • Conduct resonance analysis and vibration damping.
  • Deploy and repair devices in the field.

Electronic Enclosure Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Engineer required to design enclosures with electronic contents using FEA Analysis, CFD Simulation and 3D Modelling.

This is a hands-on mechanical design role working on concept to production of electronic housing and potting boxes from metal.

Key skills
3D mechanical CAD design experience including the preparation of tolerance engineering drawings
Ideally with Autodesk Fusion and Fema for vibration analysis.
Good degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
Strong numerical and analysis skills
Practical mechanical engineering skills for building prototypes
Experience working on road vehicles professionally or as a hobby
Machine shop tools e.g.

lathe, mill exposure.
Knowledge of Python for data analysis and visualisation

What you will be doing
Mechanical component design of two novel sensors, including a magnetic clamping system and mould for a potted device.
Resonance analysis in Femap and design vibration damping
Deploy and repair devices in the field
Write assembly and deployment procedures for your designs
