Electrician – Location: HMP Huntercombe. Salary: £41,818.21. Contract: Permanent - Full Time.

We are seeking a dedicated, fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C mens prison.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and we are seeking an Electrician with a combination of qualifications and experience as listed below.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to planned and preventive maintenance operations for electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary facilities team to maintain a safe and secure environment within the prison.
  • Apply health and safety knowledge to daily tasks and operational procedures.
  • Participate in a professional team to support rehabilitation and positive change within the facility.
Qualifications
  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S) e.g., 2367 or 2357.
  • Two years of experience as a fully qualified electrician.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
  • Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
