Operational Hub: Slough, Berkshire

Position Summary

We are actively seeking an experienced, certified Electrician with a strong background in testing and compliance to join our essential services team, focusing primarily on the Slough district. This position is vital for maintaining the safety and condition of our housing stock, requiring expertise in electrical installation, fault rectification, and mandatory safety certifications.

Key Accountabilities
  • Statutory Inspection and Verification:
    • Manage and execute the established 5-year cyclical testing programme across all residential units and shared communal areas.
    • Complete thorough Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), accurately identifying and promptly carrying out necessary remedial works.
    • Perform initial verification, testing, and sign-off on all new circuits, installations, and system modifications.
  • Maintenance and Asset Improvement:
    • Deliver efficient reactive repairs, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in resident homes quickly and safely.
    • Execute all required electrical works and safety checks within vacant properties ('Voids') to ensure swift re-letting compliance.
    • Support planned maintenance schemes, including installation work for kitchen, bathroom, and heating system upgrades.
    • Maintain, service, and upgrade communal lighting and power supplies.
  • Quality and Documentation:
    • Ensure all work meets the rigorous standards set by the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
    • Accurately complete all necessary digital certification and documentation (using NICEIC-compliant software or equivalent).
    • Maintain precise and complete electronic records of inspections, testing data, and maintenance activities.
Essential Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance (or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship).
  • Current certification to the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18 or equivalent).
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Certificate - A mandatory qualification.
  • A recognised formal qualification in Electrical Inspection, Testing and Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or the combined 2394/2395).
  • Proven practical experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis within a domestic environment.
  • A current, full UK Driving Licence.
  • Previous experience within the social housing or facilities management sector is highly beneficial.
