Electrician – Lighting Projects

Location : UK-wide travel - Base locations available in Leeds, Sheffield, Glasgow, Reading, Midlands, ME / Medway & Cambridge

Contract : Permanent, Full-time

Working Pattern : Monday-Thursday | 10-hour night shifts | ~80% nightwork

Typical Work : UK-wide projects, staying away as required

Base Salary : £36,000–£38,000 base salary (role / location dependent)

Package : Company van + night premiums + overtime enhancements + full training

  • Electricians consistently increase their take-home beyond the £36–£38k base through night uplift, weekly overtime, Sunday double time and occasional fixed-price assignments*
About the Role

I’m working with a leading technical services provider who deliver lighting and electrical projects across major retail, industrial, commercial and government sites. They’re expanding their Lighting Projects team and looking for qualified Electricians who are comfortable working nights, travelling, and getting stuck into varied project work.

The role is heavily site-based, with most shifts completed overnight and across different UK locations. Travel, subsistence and accommodation are all covered — and there are strong opportunities to boost earnings through night premiums, overtime, and fixed-price project bonuses.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out LED lighting and electrical installations to a high standard
  • Work from electrical drawings, schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Support minor works, test & inspection (training provided if needed)
  • Deliver clean workmanship with zero rework required
  • Work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors and the wider team
  • Operate safely, always following H&S procedures
  • Complete night shifts (Mon–Thur) and stay away when required
  • Manage your company van, tools and materials responsibly
What You’ll Need
  • Fully qualified Electrician (18th Edition)
  • LED lighting experience (ideal but not essential)
  • 2391 Test & Inspection – desirable (training provided)
  • SSSTS, IPAF, PASMA – desirable (training provided)
  • Comfortable with night shifts, travel, and occasional stays away
  • Ability to work at heights (up to 3m) and lift up to 25kg
  • Strong communication & customer focus
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self‑motivated, reliable and able to work independently
