Position: Electrician

Type: Permanent, Full Time

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - 10-hour days

Salary: £40,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Electrician to join our FM team at HMP Ashfield, an adult male sex offender prison located in Pucklechurch, South Gloucestershire. The successful candidate will perform fault finding, defect rectification, maintenance, and installation of electrical plant and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Fault finding and defect rectification on electrical systems
  • Pre-planned maintenance of electrical equipment
  • Installation of new electrical plant and apparatus
  • Document inspection findings and pursue fault rectifications
  • Work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
  • C & G Electrical Certificate or equivalent
  • Recognized electrical trade qualification
  • Served a recognized trade apprenticeship
  • Qualified to BS7671 (Current Edition of IEE Regulations)
  • At least 5 years of trade experience post-apprenticeship
  • Willingness to undertake additional training if required
Additional Information

This role involves working in a secure environment, which can be challenging. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with out-of-hours and weekend work as needed. The on-call roster is approximately 1 in 8.
