Electrician

We are recruiting an accomplished and focused Electrician to take on a pivotal role within our property services team, primarily operating within Andover and the surrounding areas. This position demands a specialist in electrical testing and certification, coupled with the proven ability to execute high‑quality reactive and planned maintenance work across our social housing stock.

Core Responsibilities and Duties
  • Mandatory Testing Program: Lead and execute the mandated five‑year cyclical electrical safety inspection program across all properties, including individual homes and associated communal zones.
  • Produce meticulous Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and accurately complete subsequent required remedial actions.
  • Perform initial verification and final commissioning tests for all new installations and circuit modifications.
  • Repairs, Upgrades, and Voids: Provide a comprehensive repairs service, efficiently diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults reported by residents.
  • Deliver all necessary electrical installations and checks to facilitate the rapid turnaround of empty properties ('Voids').
  • Support major planned investment projects by completing electrical elements for kitchen, bathroom, and heating system modernisations.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain communal lighting systems and associated circuitry.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure strict adherence to the latest edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) in all work practices.
  • Utilise digital platforms (e.g., NICEIC‑compliant software) to accurately generate and issue all required electrical safety certificates and documentation.
  • Maintain clear, precise, and up‑to‑date electronic records of all completed work orders and testing results.
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain a courteous and professional manner at all times when dealing with residents and team members.
  • Uphold the company's commitment to delivering reliable, safe, and quality workmanship.
Essential Qualifications and Prerequisites
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification or verifiable equivalent apprenticeship/training.
  • Current 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (e.g., C&G #removed#).
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) Certificate – This is a strict requirement.
  • A recognised qualification in Electrical Inspection, Testing, and Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or the combined 2394/2395 units).
  • Proven history of delivering maintenance and installation services, ideally within a domestic setting.
  • A current, full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience working within the social housing sector is desirable.
