Job summary

A leading training provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Trainer to inspire and instruct apprentices at their Bridgwater Training Centre. You will lead technical training courses and ensure compliance with safety standards. Ideal candidates will possess a Level 3 Engineering qualification and experience in managing distribution plant. A valid driving license is required, and occasional travel to Tipton Training Centre is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining Distribution plant and equipment.
  • Sound understanding of the Distribution Safety Rules and associated Policies.
  • Experience of managing teams or work activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging Fitting training courses within a classroom and workshop environment.
  • Support maintenance of training products ensuring compliance with quality assurance.
  • Conduct safety walks for areas of responsibility.

Job: Electrical Trainer (With experience as a Electricity Distribution Fitter)

Location: Bridgwater

(Whilst you will predominantly be based at our Bridgwater Training Centre, you will on occasion be required to travel to our Tipton Training Centre)

A valid driving licence is required to be held as part of this role.

Job Introduction Are you a passionate and experienced Electrical Trainer with experience as a Electricity Distribution Fitter seeking an opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation? If you are, then my client is looking for you to join their training team. The role will require you to lead engaging Fitting training courses within a classroom and workshop environment to apprentices, new hires and operational staff.

Responsibilities
  • Using experience to help in the design and development of technical and safety training to meet customer requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of training products, ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure training products meet relevant safety and technical requirements.
  • Interact with technical experts and relevant departments to ensure training is developed to meet necessary standards.
  • Review latest technical and safety bulletins to remain knowledgeable on safety training matters.
  • Review lesson plans and presentations to ensure sessions are delivered to a high standard.
  • Support the team by carrying out observations to identify and implement improvements.
  • Maintain training centre facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure training equipment is maintained, calibrated, and tested as necessary.
  • Conduct safety walks for areas of responsibility.
  • Assess individuals carrying out practical activities to ensure they meet qualification standards.
  • Work with the Design and Innovation Team to drive improvements and new products.
  • Health & Safety, Safeguarding responsibilities to learners.
  • Completion of accurate course reports and assessments documentation
Qualifications
  • Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship, Appropriate Technical Qualification - ONC/ HNC or equivalent Electrical Engineering Qualification
  • Experience maintaining Distribution plant and equipment
  • Sound understanding of the Distribution Safety Rules and associated Policies
  • Excellent communication and time management / planning skills
  • Good degree of IT skills and be conversant with Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience of managing teams or work activities desirable
