Opportunity

Due to continued growth across their testing division, the company is seeking an experienced Electrical Tester to join the team. The role focuses on commercial electrical testing, including EICRs, emergency lighting, fault finding, and electrical compliance work across a range of commercial buildings, with some domestic testing as required.

This position is ideally suited to an experienced Electrical Tester or Electrical Test Engineer with strong EICR experience and confidence working to the latest electrical regulations. You will carry out testing, produce detailed reports, and ensure all works are completed accurately, safely, and to a high professional standard.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across commercial and domestic properties
  • Complete emergency lighting testing, fault finding, diagnostics, and minor remedial works
  • Produce accurate test certificates and associated compliance documentation
  • Ensure all works meet BS 7671 and current IET Wiring Regulations
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration compliance
  • Work in line with pre‑planned testing schedules and job sheets
  • Liaise with clients, site staff, and supervisors to coordinate access and works
  • Support the wider electrical maintenance team where required
  • Take part in a call‑out rota for urgent testing and electrical safety issues
Requirements
  • 35 years experience in electrical testing and producing EICRs
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition 2391 or 2392 (or equivalent Inspection and Testing qualification)
  • Strong EICR and inspection experience
  • Good understanding of UK electrical testing standards
  • Experience using testing software and digital reporting tools
  • Full UK driving licence
Remuneration Package

Electrical Tester£45,000

£48,000 basic salary
Company van, fuel card, phone, laptop, and tools provided
Overtime available at enhanced rates : 1.5x on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays
Working hours : 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Health cover and company pension
