Job description

Job Title: Project Manager - Electrical

We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager with a strong background in the electrical trade and experience in both project delivery and estimating. This role is ideal for someone who is technically competent, well‑organised, and capable of managing electrical projects from planning through to completion while also supporting the preparation of accurate quotations and tenders.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day project activities, coordinating engineers and subcontractors, planning labour and material requirements, and ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and in line with BS 7671 and relevant industry standards.
  • The role includes preparing project schedules and documentation, carrying out site visits, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and maintaining clear communication with clients.
  • Alongside project delivery, you will contribute to estimating duties such as preparing electrical quotations, assessing drawings and specifications, pricing works, and reviewing costs and variations.
  • You will work closely with senior management to support tender submissions and ensure projects meet commercial expectations.
Qualifications
  • Solid experience in the electrical industry, ideally having progressed from electrician to supervisor or project‑focused roles.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations, testing, and commissioning is essential, along with good problem‑solving skills and the ability to interpret technical information and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and 18th Edition (BS 7671). A testing and inspection qualification such as 2391, as well as SSSTS or ECS/CSCS, is desirable but not essential.
