Electrical Systems Project Manager
Location: Nottingham (primarily onsite with some hybrid). Job Type: Permanent. Salary: £60,000‑70,000 plus 15% bonus, healthcare and benefits package.
In this newly created role you will digitise the manufacturing backbone of a large FMCG manufacturing, process and packaging site. Your brief is to help drive the future electrical systems for projects at this manufacturing site, modernising and digitising through database, systems and infrastructure development. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead critical electrical infrastructure upgrades and develop a robust database system to support Industry 4.0 transformation.
Role Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, installation and commissioning of all electrical infrastructure projects on site.
- Develop and implement electrical standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety regulations and best practices.
- Create and manage a site‑wide electrical database to enable data‑driven decisions, predictive maintenance and digital asset management.
- Oversee the electrical elements of the full project life cycle – from feasibility studies and CAPEX planning to delivery and handover.
- Partner with operations, engineering and IT teams to integrate digital solutions.
- Manage contractors, budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and in full.
- Lead electrical and control system projects from concept to completion, ensuring robust design, installation and commissioning.
- Maintain and improve site electrical standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety requirements and best practice.
- Serve as the technical authority for electrical systems, design reviews and project risk assessments.
- Develop project plans, including scope, budget, schedule and resource requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project challenges.
Role Requirements
- Degree, HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical project management within FMCG or high‑volume, time‑sensitive, complex manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical compliance, safety standards and legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with digital electrical systems, databases or automation technologies to modernise manufacturing operations.
- Proven project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards, legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience delivering automation, control systems or electrical infrastructure projects.
