Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer in Leicester. You will be responsible for electrical fault finding and repair on production machinery, leading small projects to improve performance, and conducting routine safety checks. The ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent) and some mechanical experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Competitive salary starting at £47,432 with potential to rise based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have electrical fault finding and repair skills on production machinery.
  • Required qualification in Electrical Engineering at Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical fault finding and repair on production machinery.
  • Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns.
  • Lead small projects to enhance plant efficiency.
  • Perform routine Health & Safety checks on all equipment.

Job Title: Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer

Location: Leicester

Salary: Entry £47,432 rising through two stages to a maximum of £50,749 dependant on experience

Shifts: Monday - Friday Perm Nights

Responsibilities
  • Electrical fault finding and repair on production machinery
  • Quick and effective response to breakdowns
  • Lead small projects to improve plant performance
  • Conduct routine Health & Safety checks on equipment
  • Work with PLC controls and automation systems
  • Experience on any of the following machines would be advantageous:
    • Flow Wrappers
    • Slitting Machines
    • Check Weighers
    • Metal Detectors
    • Label Printing Machines
    • Vertical Form Fill & Seal Machines
    • Conveyor Systems
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
    • Bearings
    • Motors
    • General building maintenance
Ideal Candidate
  • Electrically focused engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Some mechanical/multi-skilled engineering experience
  • Experience in delivering improvement projects and efficiency initiatives
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (food/FMCG/pharma preferred, but not essential)
