Overview

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Wrexham Industrial Estate
Salary: £40,000-£48,000

Working Pattern

3 on 3 off with the following pattern: Shift 1 – Days 8am-8pm (on call overnight on rota basis); Shift 2 – Days 8am-8pm (on call overnight on rota basis); Shift 3 – Nights 6pm-6am (no on-call required).

Responsibilities

The Role: This role operates within the maintenance/engineering department, working with a small team of engineers to assist in the efficient and smooth running of the business. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and provide a hands-on engineering service to the production operation by ensuring that all plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with the PPM plan to achieve planned production with minimal downtime.

  • Provide electrical and mechanical reactive, and preventative maintenance support in a well-established production environment.
  • Follow a detailed planned maintenance schedule.
  • Carry out fabrication work including MIG welding, as well as machine installation, servicing and general maintenance.
  • Work with PLC controlled equipment and have knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and steam boilers in a high-speed environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar maintenance role and able to provide electrical and mechanical reactive and planned preventative maintenance support.
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety procedures and perform work to high standards.
  • Familiarity with fabrication, MIG welding, machine installation, servicing and general maintenance.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment; knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and steam boilers in a high-speed environment.
  • Preferred: time-served, electrically biased multi-skilled engineer; educated to HNC or City & Guilds standard, or equivalent strong knowledge.
  • MIG welding experience.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office and spreadsheets).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
