You will help digitise the manufacturing backbone of a large manufacturing, Process and Packaging site. Drive the future electrical systems at this manufacturing site. A programme to modernise and digitise through database, systems and infrastructure development. We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Manager, within systems, to lead critical electrical infrastructure upgrades and develop a robust database system to support Industry 4.0 transformation. As an Electrical Engineering Systems Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion, applying electrical standards and governance to ongoing CAPEX and transformation projects.

Role Duties & Responsibilities – Electrical Infrastructure & Systems Manager
  • Develop and implement electrical standards ensuring compliance with legislation, safety regulations, and best practices
  • Create and manage a site-wide electrical database, enabling data-driven decisions, predictive maintenance, and digital asset management
  • Oversee the electrical elements of the full project life cycle—from feasibility studies and CAPEX planning to delivery and handover
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and IT teams to integrate digital solutions
  • Manage contractors, budgets, and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time, in full
  • Lead electrical and control system projects from concept to completion, ensuring robust design, installation, and commissioning
  • Maintain and improve site electrical standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety requirements, and best practice
  • Serve as the technical authority for electrical systems, design reviews, and project risk assessments
  • Develop project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource requirements
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential project challenges
Role Requirements - Electrical Infrastructure & Systems Manager
Electrical Subject Matter Expert Skills
  • Time served and ideally have an HNC/HND in electrical or electronic engineering
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical systems and distribution on a large factory scale
  • Knowledge and experience of utility equipment and energy management systems
  • Ensure legal compliance to all electrical systems in accordance with the Electrical at Work Act 1989
  • Lead the development and implementation of the strategy for the electrical distribution system across the site
  • Strong understanding of electrical compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to work with digital electrical systems, databases, or automation technologies to modernise manufacturing operations
  • Proven project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards, legislation, and safe systems of work
  • Experience delivering automation, control systems, or electrical infrastructure projects
Controls, instrumentation & IT skills
  • Local Area Networks (LAN), operating and maintaining a secure network
  • Specifying the requirements of a LAN, using appropriate routers, switches and hubs, configuring servers and assigning IP addresses
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data security and reliability of Web-based information systems
  • Effectively interface with other LAN-based systems, respecting the limitations and security aspects
  • Have a practical working knowledge of high-level languages such as Visual Basic and C++
  • Experience with the development and application of SCADA and HMI packages
  • Knowledge of applying Web Technology to industrial process controls
