Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Shifts (Glasgow)

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Shifts
Location: Glasgow area
Pay Range: £50k‑52k plus overtime
Contract Type: Permanent
Industry: Global Manufacturer

Job Overview

Our client is a large global manufacturer with an established engineering team at a site in the Glasgow area. You will help the site produce high‑quality manufactured products, support continuous improvement, and contribute to ongoing site investment and expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.
  • Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Work with conveyor systems, PLC systems, motors and controls.
  • Lead electrical and instrumentation repair, and collaborate with a CMMS.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and eliminate root causes of equipment faults.
  • Implement minor equipment modifications to support increased performance.
  • Complete all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in an electrical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering.
  • Manufacturing industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered.
  • Understanding of a PPM schedule and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to find and fix faults quickly and effectively.
  • Proactive approach to fault finding, commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
