Job summary

A leading kitchen supplier in Runcorn seeks an Electrical Engineer to support growth in their manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will engage in proactive and preventative maintenance of CNC machinery, have a strong aptitude for fault finding, and contribute to improvement initiatives. Candidates must have NVQ Level 3 and experience with Siemens PLCs and CNC machinery is desirable. Howdens offers excellent benefits including pension, holidays, and onsite facilities.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in maintaining multi-axis (CNC) manufacturing machinery.
  • Knowledge of Siemens s7 PLC, Beckhoff PLC, Pilz Safety PLC and Mitsubishi PLC desirable.
  • Fault finding and corrective actions experience required.
  • Experience in a woodworking manufacturing plant desirable.

Job description

Howdens Joinery is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Department at our manufacturing facility in Runcorn, Cheshire. With significant investment underway to expand and modernise our cabinet and panel production operations, this is an excellent opportunity to join us and contribute to our exciting growth plans.

In this role, you will bring a completed engineering apprenticeship, hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and a strong track record of working in a proactive, safety-focused culture.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key part in delivering proactive and preventative maintenance across our manufacturing equipment, services, and utilities, supporting improvement initiatives, and responding to reactive maintenance needs when required.

Shift

Days based, (4 on-4off, 2 days / 2nights)

Pay Rate

£49,263.24 per annum + Weekend Allowance £4621.20 per annum + Shift Allowance £2,368.08 per annum + Disturbance Allowance £1404.04 per annum + Contractual OT £2078.30 per annum + 6am-8am Allowance

What do you need to qualify for the Electrical Engineer
  • Experienced in maintaining multi-axis (CNC) manufacturing machinery
  • Experience in a woodworking manufacturing plant – desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of Siemens s7 PLC, Beckhoff PLC, Pilz Safety PLC and Mitsubishi PLC would be desirable
  • PUWER experience would be desirable
  • Fault finding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems
  • NVQ Level 3 essential
