Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Permanent | Shift-based

An established and well-invested manufacturing business within the FMCG / spirits sector is currently looking to appoint an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their site engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly reputable organisation with a strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, and long-term investment in both people and plant.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime across a busy production environment. You’ll be working closely with mechanical engineers, production teams, and management to support efficient and safe operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Electrical fault-finding and breakdown response on production and packaging equipment
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime
  • Working with PLC-controlled machinery, motors, drives, sensors, and control Ver
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
The Ideal Candidate
  • Time-served Electrical Engineer (or equivalent apprenticeship)
  • Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or similar)
  • Experience within FMCG, food & drink, spirits, or high-volume manufacturing
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills (PLC fault-finding experience desirable)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proactive, team-focused, and reliable
