Days Electrical Engineer - Kings Cross

£40,000-£45,000 + Overtime | Monday-Friday | Secure, Long-Term Role

A leading Facilities Management provider is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their on‑site technical team at a prestigious University campus in Kings Cross. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern, forward‑thinking academic environment with strong job stability and ongoing development.

The Role

Working Monday to Friday, you will deliver electrical PPMs, reactive maintenance, fault‑finding, and general building services support across a large, diverse university estate. You'll ensure all electrical systems remain compliant, safe, and operational while providing high‑quality support to staff, students, and campus users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
  • Test, inspect, and maintain lighting, small power, distribution boards, emergency lighting, and controls
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out remedial works
  • Support maintenance of building services including AHUs, FCUs, BMS, and general plant
  • Ensure compliance with BS7671, health & safety rules, and safe systems of work
  • Assist with minor mechanical and building fabric tasks when required
  • Keep accurate records, logbooks, and documentation for all compliance work
  • Liaise with university staff, contractors, and the FM team to maintain a safe, functional campus
What We’re Looking For
  • NVQ Level 3 / C&G 2365 / 2330 in Electrical Installation 18th Edition (essential)
  • Experience within commercial or educational building services
  • Strong fault‑finding and testing skills
  • Good communication and customer service approach
  • Additional skills such as emergency lighting, fire alarms, HVAC involvement, or F‑Gas (advantageous but not essential)
