About The Role

You will be responsible for the electrical design and development of our products, covering all aspects of the development lifecycle including engineering analysis, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, building, and product support.
The Electrical Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site with flexible working options, including three days onsite.
The salary for this role is up to £50k, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, analyze, and implement advanced electrical systems and components for defense applications, such as sonar, communications, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical subsystems into larger defense platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Ensure all designs meet defense, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility standards, including MIL-STD and DEF STAN.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and qualification of electrical systems under military conditions to verify reliability and durability.
  • Create detailed technical documentation including schematics, reviews, test reports, and support for certification.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical system issues during development and in-service, supporting the product lifecycle.
