Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to develop and maintain site electrical/control systems. The role involves working closely with site teams, supporting production, and resolving issues to minimize downtime. Ideal candidates will have a strong engineering background and technical expertise in Control Systems, along with relevant qualifications. The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and Friday, 6:00 am - 12:00 noon.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive technical expertise in Automation and Safety Systems.
  • Ability to carry out diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with site teams for good communication.
  • Resolve repeat issues with Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Support production requirements and minimize downtime.
  • Provide fast response to breakdowns.
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on breakdowns.

Job description
Overview

Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of developing and maintaining the site electrical/control systems, as well as assisting in the resolution of day-to-day issues associated with a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise closely with the site teams to build a strong relationship ensuring good understanding and strong communication lines.
  • Proactively work to resolve repeat issues by use of Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Supporting the site's production requirements.
  • Life Cycle modeling of the site Control/Electrical Equipment.
  • Support manufacturing team to minimise production downtime due to Electrical/Control issues.
  • Provide fast response to breakdowns, including occasional out-of-hours support.
  • Maintain product certification and approval through regular audits.
  • Priority setting supporting breakdowns and focus where necessary.
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on major unplanned breakdowns and recurring problems.
Skills Required
  • Strong engineering background with comprehensive technical expertise in Control, Automation, and Safety Systems and equipment.
  • Hands-on expertise of multiple automation platforms with a strong ability to carry out diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Education/Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering Qualification such as Served Apprenticeship and/or HNC, NVQ or equivalent. Ideally with 18th Edition.
Working hours

8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday. 6.00am-12.00noon Friday
