Overview

As an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be at the heart of developing, delivering, and supporting radiometric characterisation and alarm systems across the UK and internationally. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to contribute to nuclear safety and innovation, while advancing your career in a highly specialised and impactful field. Day-to-day, you'll develop and verify technical solutions, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

Responsibilities
  • Lead investigations and drive design improvements across projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to manage specifications and delivery
  • Support project execution and mentor junior engineers
  • Promote engineering excellence, health and safety, and cultural change across the business

This is a full-time role with a 37-hour working week, based at one of our key locations Moor Row, (Cumbria) Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire) or Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available, with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the office. Travel to customer sites such as Sellafield, Nottingham, Dounreay, and Capenhurst may be required.

Essential experience
  • Working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams across varied project types
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Delivering systems input and providing post-installation or third-line technical support
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers on-site for testing, installation, and commissioning
  • Background in EC&I, Physics, or Radiometric, with experience in control systems and analogue/digital electronics
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent) in electronics, control and instrumentation, or a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it
