Overview

As a Shift Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous operation of a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and quality of production processes, contributing to the delivery of premium dairy products to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Operate as the sole shift engineer, managing all engineering tasks during your shift.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machinery and equipment used in food production.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns or technical problems during production hours.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement maintenance schedules that do not disrupt production flow.
  • Monitor and control equipment performance, ensuring optimal efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including logs, reports, and records.
  • Ensure that engineering contractors adhere to site rules, health & safety, and food safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Must be happy working night shift (12 hours) on a 7 day fortnight pattern.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of machinery and equipment used in food production, including but not limited to conveyors, mixers, fillers, and packaging machines.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems effectively.
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve urgent issues.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and relay technical information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in maintenance tasks.
