Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Egg Collectors in the Alford, Lincolnshire area.

Own transport is required due to location.

Pay rate: £12.50 p/h, increasing following probation

Hours: Choice of shift patterns available, including 4 on 4 off

Responsibilities:
  • Record temperatures and water meter readings upon arrival.
  • Wear PPE provided, check for food, water, lights, and open nest boxes immediately on arrival.
  • Walk the shed to check for floor eggs and dead birds, remove and store dead birds properly, and perform at least two additional checks during the day.
  • Report any problems immediately to your line manager. If unavailable, follow the designated procedure.
  • Maintain hygiene standards by cleaning floors, egg contact surfaces, equipment, and high-touch areas.
  • Complete all required paperwork daily, including temperature logs, water meter readings, dead bird records, and egg collection details.
  • Separate class A eggs from seconds, and pack and label appropriately to ensure quality.
  • Weekly tasks include cleaning control rooms and panels, wiping walls, and checking nest boxes thoroughly.
  • Ensure all areas are clean and ready for audits, and clean up broken eggs before leaving.
  • Work safely at all times, only performing tasks you have been trained for, and report issues promptly.
  • Occasionally lift chickens at night and catch chickens if able; roles may switch across different farm areas as needed.
