A leading recruitment agency is seeking an Education Capital and Place Planning Officer to support a local authority's educational initiatives. This role involves project management of school capital projects, ensuring compliance with statutory duties, and liaising with multiple stakeholders. The position is full-time with a daily rate of £425, remote with occasional visits required in the East Midlands.

Location: Remote WFH with occasional visits around the East Midlands
Duration: Until End of Jan 2026
Hours: Full time – 37 hours
Rate: £425 per day umbrella (inside IR35)
Start date: ASAP
The postholder will support a local authority in meeting its statutory duty to secure sufficient education provision. This includes planning school place demand, contributing to new school places, supporting school conversions to academies, and delivering education capital projects. The role involves managing projects to improve the school estate, including decarbonisation initiatives and compliance with DfE guidance. The officer will liaise with internal teams, schools, developers, and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
