A local primary school in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to support children aged 2-4 years. This role requires a Level 3 childcare qualification and experience with EYFS pupils. Responsibilities include creating engaging learning environments, adapting plans to meet children's needs, and promoting a nurturing atmosphere. 12 month maternity cover starting 1 March 2026. An ELAN early years practitioner is positive, a team player, motivational, flexible, creative, innovative with a supportive nature, and confident, calm, consistent and resourceful with experience supporting EYFS pupils in a classroom environment.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Early Years provision at Bournville Primary School working with children aged 2-4 years.
Location: Weston-super-Mare
Hours: 35 hours per week, including 35 INSET hours per academic year (term time only)
Salary: £21,840.97 - £23,279.56

You will work closely with the nursery and preschool manager to resource and adapt planning and support high quality teaching and learning across all subjects. You will help to create learning environments where pupils can expand their knowledge. You will work with the school community to uphold our trust and school values.
You need to be proactive, energetic, and committed to engaging pupils, developing their desire to learn. You will help to inspire them to be confident and independent. You will also need to be calm, patient, sensitive and able to comfort children when they’re upset.
