Job summary

A local educational institution in Wigan is seeking an Early Years Practitioner to support children in an early years setting.   • Monday: 07:45am – 04:00pm
  • Tuesday: Off
  • Wednesday: 07:45am – 06:00pm
  • Thursday: 07:45am – 06:00pm
  • Friday: 07:45am – 06:00pm

½ hr lunch each day

The Governors of St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School and Early Years Centre are seeking to appoint one enthusiastic, creative, motivated and experienced Early Years Practitioner.

The job will involve working with and supporting a key group of children, individual children and as part of a team of practitioners within the baby and toddler room.

The successful applicant will also work in partnership with parents and must be confident to liaise with outside agencies where necessary. Flexibility and reliability are an essential attribute that is needed from any successful candidate due to the nature of our ever‑changing profession.

You must enjoy working as part of a team and have a great sense of humour. You must be determined to help our children progress and have the initiative needed to personalise support. You will have excellent behaviour management and a nurturing approach. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference and work with a strong team.

Previous experience of working in an early year’s setting is essential. Please state on the application form any additional training that you have undertaken, for example Paediatric First Aid. Your literacy and numeracy skills must be of a high standard with a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, however further training and support will be provided as required.
