Job summary

A local council is seeking a passionate Early Years Officer for Sacred Heart Primary School’s Early Learning and Childcare Class in Anstruther. This part-time role (22.2 hours, Wednesday to Friday) covers maternity leave until January 2027. The successful candidate will have HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent and experience working with children, promoting and delivering high-quality play and learning both indoors and outdoors. Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is required.

• Experience working with children in Early Learning settings.
• Registered with or seeking registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.

An opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Officer to join the team at Sacred Heart Primary School, Early Learning and Childcare Class to cover a maternity leave

You will have skills, knowledge and experience of all current Early Learning and Childcare provision and procedures and have a passion for promoting and delivering high quality play and learning both indoors and outdoors.

You will work as an effective team member and establish positive relationships with children and families. You will have knowledge and experience of current early learning and childcare provision and procedures.

With experience of working with children, you will have an HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent. You must be registered with or currently seeking registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

The post is Part Time (22.2 hours working Wednesday to Friday), Term Time, and is temporary within Falkirk Council Children's Services until end January 2027.

Please note salary quoted in the advert will be adjusted for term time working pattern.
