Early Intervention Officer

North Wales (Wrexham / Powys)

£29,786 per annum (pro rata)

30 or 37 hours per week | Flexible working

Are you passionate about supporting people at key moments in their housing journey? Do you believe early, compassionate intervention can change lives and prevent hardship before it escalates?

We're partnering with a values-led social housing provider in North Wales to recruit two Early Intervention Officers to join a resident-focused Housing Services team. These roles are all about prevention, support and empowerment helping residents settle into their homes, manage their rent, and access the right support at the right time.

About the role

This is a proactive, resident-focused position where you'll work closely with Housing Officers to support new and existing residents to:

  • Set up and sustain their tenancy
  • Access Universal Credit and housing benefits
  • Manage rent payments and prevent early arrears
  • Navigate financial hardship and access support funds
  • Reduce the risk of homelessness through early intervention

You’ll play a key role in the first 8 weeks of a tenancy, offering practical guidance, reassurance and support when it matters most.

About you

You’ll be customer-focused, empathetic and confident supporting people who may be experiencing financial or social challenges. Experience within housing, welfare, benefits or community support is ideal, along with:

  • Strong communication and decision‑making skills
  • A proactive, flexible approach
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team

A full driving licence is required. A basic DBS check will be completed (paid for by the organisation).
