Job description

This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished EA to support one of the most senior leaders within a global professional services organisation. The role sits at the heart of the firm's governance and leadership structure and will appeal to EAs who are already operating at Managing Partner, Chair, or Board level and are seeking a role with genuine strategic exposure and influence. Working closely with the Global Senior Partner, you will act as a trusted adviser, gatekeeper and organiser, enabling the effective running of the firm's leadership agenda across multiple jurisdictions. This is a role for someone who enjoys complexity, discretion and responsibility, and who thrives in an environment where judgement and credibility matter as much as technical skill.

The Team

You will be part of a small, highly regarded Secretariat team that provides executive, governance and organisational support to senior leadership and partners globally. The team is collaborative, discreet and professional, with a reputation for operating at the highest standard and for being deeply embedded in the firm's leadership infrastructure.

The Role

The Executive Assistant will provide high-level, confidential and proactive support to the Global Managing Partner. The remit is broad and intellectually engaging, encompassing governance, partnership processes, strategic projects and senior stakeholder management across time zones. You will be responsible for anticipating priorities, managing complex workflows and ensuring that leadership, board and partner processes run smoothly, efficiently and to an exceptional standard.

    • End-to-end diary and travel management, including complex international schedules and visa requirements
    • Acting as a trusted gatekeeper and first point of contact
    • Drafting correspondence, communications and briefing materials on behalf of the Global Senior Partner
    • Preparing action lists, follow-ups and reminders to ensure delivery against priorities
    • Managing expenses and maintaining robust electronic filing and records
  • Governance, Boards & Committees
    • Co-ordinating senior partner, board and committee meetings, including agendas, papers, attendance and minutes
    • Attending meetings, producing high-quality minutes and driving actions to completion
    • Managing voting processes, outcomes and records with accuracy and discretion
    • Maintaining governance documentation and audit trails
  • Partnership & Appraisal Processes
    • Supporting partner appraisal cycles across jurisdictions
    • Liaising with senior stakeholders, finance and HR to compile appraisal materials
    • Tracking feedback, progress and outcomes against agreed timelines
    • Producing analysis, trackers and summary schedules for leadership review
  • Strategic Projects, Growth & Talent
    • Supporting partner recruitment, promotions and lateral hires
    • Preparing papers, voting packs and communications for leadership and partnership decisions
    • Liaising with senior talent, finance and legal stakeholders to finalise offers and documentation
    • Maintaining progress updates and supporting strategic growth initiatives
  • Client & Thought Leadership Support
    • Co-ordinating senior client listening initiatives and leadership-level business development activity
    • Supporting thought leadership activity, including podcasts and senior-level engagements
    • Acting as a liaison between leadership, clients and internal teams
  • Events & Partner Engagement
    • Organising senior partner meetings, dinners, conferences and leadership events
    • Managing logistics, attendee lists, seating plans and follow-up communications
  • Collaboration & Team Support
    • Providing cover and support to other senior EAs during peak periods or absence
    • Sharing best practice and contributing to consistent, high-quality executive support across the firm
Skills & Experience
  • Substantial experience as an Executive Assistant supporting Managing Partner, Chair, Board or equivalent senior leadership within a law firm or comparable professional services environment
