Job description
Overview

Role: E&I Technician (COMPEX)

Location: Norfolk

Duration: 6 Months

We are looking for COMPEX technicians to support DSEAR rectification works across Norfolk, including Diss and Kings Lynn Compressors. This is a 6 months contract, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities
  • Installation of electrical and instrumentation systems in potentially explosive (ATEX) atmospheres
  • Installation of containment systems
  • Installation of cables
  • Conduct DSEAR inspections to BS EN standards
  • Perform testing of loops installed
  • Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and panel layouts etc
  • Safely isolate and remove redundant electrical equipment
  • Ensure compliance with the latest BS7671 Wiring Regulations
  • Liaise with site management and clients to report progress, raise issues, and deliver solutions
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health & safety and workmanship across all tasks
Essential Qualifications
  • CompEx EX01-04 certification (for work in hazardous areas)
  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, Level NVQ / SVQ, BTEC, or equivalent)
  • Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2022 (18th Edition)
  • City & Guilds 2391, 2394, or 2395 Inspection & Testing
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid DBS Certificate
Desirable Qualifications
  • EUSR card
  • CSCS card
Experience & Skills
  • Oil & Gas Industry Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in industrial electrical environments
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous area classifications and relevant regulations
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • A methodical, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented approach
