Job description

Salary: Starting salary of £20,888 per annum, with yearly pay increases upon successful completion of each year.

Looking to build an exciting career in engineering?
Join us at Ibstock PLC as an Apprentice Engineer and take your first step towards becoming a fully qualified engineer. This 4-year programme will equip you with a Level 3 Engineering Technician - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship, while offering you hands-on experience, mentorship from industry experts, and a competitive salary.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time training at MAKE UK Training School in your first year, where you will be residential and live in Birmingham in 4 week blocks (we cover all travel and accommodation costs when staying over at Make UK).

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting our engineering team with the maintenance of plant equipment and preventative tasks.

Examples of subjects studied (depending on the specialism) are:

  • Principles and operation of Three-Phase Systems
  • Features and Applications of Electrical Machines
  • Electronic Fault Finding
  • Electro, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems and Devices
  • Engineering Maintenance Procedures and Techniques
  • Mechanical principles and applications

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for practical, hands-on individuals with the drive and passion to gain real-world experience with a market-leading company. If you have:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science
  • A genuine interest in engineering and a desire to learn
  • A full UK driving licence (advantageous but not essential)
