The Role: Part-Time Drama Teacher


We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Drama Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Leeds area. This is a part-time position, starting as soon as possible (ASAP), providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to a successful Performing Arts faculty. The role involves preparing and delivering engaging Drama lessons to students across key stages, fostering a love for the subject, and supporting their academic and personal development through performance.

Key Responsibilities


  1. Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated Drama lessons to various key stages.

  2. Assessment: Mark and assess student work, providing timely and constructive feedback to drive progress.

  3. Extracurricular: Contribute to the school's extra-curricular provision, potentially running a drama club or supporting productions.

  4. Safeguarding: Uphold the school's stringent safeguarding policies and promote student well-being at all times.

  5. Data Analysis: Monitor student progress and use data to inform future planning and intervention strategies.

  6. Curriculum Development: Assist the Head of Department in developing and enhancing the Drama curriculum.

  7. Communication: Liaise effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

  8. Professional Development: Proactively participate in school and departmental training and self-improvement.

  9. Resource Management: Ensure the Drama teaching spaces and resources are well-maintained and used effectively.

  10. School Values: Promote the positive ethos and core values of the school throughout all professional duties.
