Performing Arts Teacher – Swansea

Salary: £864.80 per week

Hours: 8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a positive, outgoing, and imaginative drama teacher for the Swansea area. This full‑time flexible position will encompass teaching Year 7 to Year 11 in a highly valued secondary school where performing arts are highlighted by popular annual productions.

Responsibilities

Day‑to‑day tasks include:

  • Lesson planning following the Welsh curriculum
  • Directing productions – selecting scripts, holding auditions and guiding students’ performances
  • Fostering high‑energy creativity through theatre games and collaborative projects
  • Providing constructive feedback to help students improve
  • Administrative duties – coordinating rehearsal schedules, communicating with parents and participating in school events
Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Enhanced DBS (children only) on the update service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Safeguarding knowledge (children and young people)
  • 24 months of references (factual, characteristics and for childcare)
  • NQT or FQT qualifications
  • Degree or PGCE in Drama
  • Experience teaching Drama at secondary level in the UK
