Job description
Prospero Teaching – Doncaster Tutor

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting tutors in Doncaster to provide 1:1 tuition for students accessing alternative provision.

What will you be tutoring?

The vast majority of our tuition referrals are for English and Maths. Our students are typically below the expected age range, so the learning delivery will be at KS1–KS3 level.

Role Details

Location: DN4 – within the students’ home
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Hours: 3 hours per week
Pay: £20–£30 per hour.
The Role: English and Maths tuition for a Post‑16 student working at GCSE Level. Expected delivery of knowledge: KS2–KS3. Experience with SEN is desired.

When and where will you be tutoring?

Our tuitions can be held in a number of places:

  • Within schools
  • Within public places
  • Within students’ homes
  • At all of the above locations, there will always be an appropriate adult present for your tuition sessions. This will be the students’ parent, carer, or guardian, meaning you’ll never be left alone with a student.

Our sessions take place within school hours, 9 am–4 pm, and our clients are very flexible on timings. When a role becomes available, we will come to you as the tutor to set timings for when you’d like to take on the hours.

What qualifications do you need?

With our tuition roles, you do not need to be a qualified teacher. We usually ask that you have some form of higher education.

We’d also expect candidates to have prior experience within education; at least 4 months working in a school or educational setting. This could be as a teacher, teaching assistant, or in a pastoral or support role.

How do I get started?

To get started as a tutor, you’ll need to register with Prospero Teaching!

Our registration process is simple and can be broken down into a few steps:
